Eleanor Kit is the pen name of Michelle Wade, inspired by two hardworking business minded grandmothers, who provided an exemplar for her writing and entrepreneurial ambitions.
Michelle writes children’s illustrated books to encourage curious minds in the preschool / primary school age group. Currently these books have a NZ and Fiji theme but will branch out into a global journey as these series develop further. The first series is Millvy’s Missing Tail, an adventure series following Millvy a silver Maine coon cat around the globe in search of his tail. The second series, ABC with Millvy, is educational with ABC in two languages and includes activity worksheets and a teacher’s guide. She’s also written a third series on Millvy’s dog brothers, Copper and Charcoal.
The story series are a mix of fiction and non-fiction within the same book to extend enjoyment reach within the household or community they will reside in. This idea sprung from holidaying with an older son and younger daughter with quite different reading tastes.
Michelle was born in New Zealand and has lived and worked in Austria, Netherlands, England, Australia returning to Auckland, New Zealand in 2001.
‘Millvy’ has a mission, and it is simple – to help make a difference by promoting and supporting charities that rescue animals in Fiji and improve learning poverty by increased access to books in Fijian villages.
