Wanaka author Kate Gordon-Smith spent ninety percent of her childhood reading books about ponies. The other ten percent she was galloping around the garden with her family’s pet Beagle.
Now she’s penning fantasy adventures and fun mysteries about brave friends, ponies and unicorns, and much-loved family dogs for readers aged 7-12.
Kate is inspired by the wonderful community and magnificent mountains of Central Otago where she lives with her husband, their red and white collie Kenzie and rescue dog Snow, a retired racehorse called Tony, and a fluffy, demanding cat named Bob.
When she isn’t working on new ideas for The Kiwi Kids’ Bookstore, she’s filling notebooks with ideas for the next book and encouraging herself to get on and write!
