Mark Snoad is a teacher, husband, and father of two daughters.
His debut MG novel, Maggie and the Mountain of Light, was published by Monarch Press, a boutique traditional publisher based in North Carolina USA.
Mark’s book won the 2024 Sir Julius Vogel Award for Best Youth Novel, an award administered by SFFANZ (Science Fiction and Fantasy Association of New Zealand).
Mark’s writing is best described as being adventurous, escapist and fun, whilst also dealing with real-world struggles like anxiety, allergies, and ADHD.
Mark lives in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland where he lives to serve his rascal dog, Wilbur. Mark would especially love to share his writing journey with students and is available for school visits.
