Monica Graham

Monica (Moni) grew up in Dunedin and lives in Waitati with her family.

She has written, illustrated and published three children’s books, inspired by a wonderful motoring childhood and by her amazing rally driver sister Emma Gilmour.

Her first book, The Roaring River Rally, features Ems alongside imaginary characters including a co-pilot monkey called Tulip. The second is a counting book, Who’s on Pole?, full of classic racing machinery and animal characters. While Joe and Co, the third, plays on the language of the workshop with weird and wonderful mix-ups and images.

A copywriter and a creative writer, Monica fills up her spare time, phone, and sketch books with photos, paintings and drawings.
