Description

From the author

“Many books I read to my children have been about how to identify and regulate emotions,” says Gillian Breckell, who grew up in east Auckland. “Often, they would worry whether they had to fix their feelings so they would not happen again. When a child’s brain is flooded with emotions, it fires on feelings and cannot connect to logic. It is understandable to want our feelings to go away or to be more controlled.”

All the Feelings explores the message that our feelings can be uncomfortable and difficult, but they are here to stay.

“The book shows us that what we feel is completely okay and normal – it is what we choose to do with the feeling that is important.”

Using beautiful illustrations and fun words, All The Feelings is relatable and helpful for children, and adults will enjoy reading aloud the rhyming story.

“The book means the world to me personally. I wrote the story for my children, who both have big feelings. And yes, I know they got those big feelings from me. All The Feelings was written to help children learn to build space between an emotional reaction and a response – a space where we can learn to listen before we act.”
