Flying Furballs, a hilarious action-packed adventure series, captures the romance and excitement of the era at the dawn of aviation — set in a world of cats verses dogs. Put simply, Flying Furballs is pussycats, planes and Paris. Our hero is Claude D’Bonair, a young pilot in the cat air corp, keen to prove his worth to the older pilots and live up to the memory of his father. Will cats and dogs ever live in harmony again? Will Claude survive with his nine lives intact?
In Flying Furballs 4: Most Wanted, young pilot Claude D’Bonair is on the run when his plane goes down in DOGZ-occupied Holland. There’s more explosive action and hilarious hi-jinks.

A wonderfully fun and entertaining illustrated chapter book with black and white illustrations throughout. A great story to read aloud with younger readers or for newly independent readers to enjoy themselves.
This interview with Donovan by The Sapling offers fantastic insight into his creation of the Flying Furballs series, which he developed to encourage reluctant readers.
Review
Booksellers NZ ~ “With the imagery of World War One, and illustrated pages of newspapers and comics, this is a visually attractive book and my children found it very engaging. Breaking up the text this way makes progress through the book very quick for young readers. Both children enjoyed the cat and dog puns.
“While this is the fourth book in the series, with recurring characters, it is not necessary to read the books in order. These books are ideally suited for children aged 7-10 who will really enjoy the animal puns and pictures.”
