Reviews

Read a great Q&A interview on Kete Books with Maria Gill and Alistair Hughes about working on this true story of famed NZ scientist Beatrice Hill Tinsley. Creating a children’s book that did justice to Beatrice’s achievements but didn’t gloss over the hardships she faced was both a challenge and an honour for them both.

What Book Next ~ This talented team has done it again – bringing an exceptional New Zealander to the fore and sharing their life with young kiwis. This time is it a gifted woman scientist whose work and research on the cosmos has been heralded around the world. It wasn’t an easy road for Beatrice by any means, but Maria Gill & Alistair Hughes have portrayed Hill Tinsley’s short but extraordinary life beautifully in another narrative non-fiction picture book.
