PRE-ORDER NOW, COPIES ARRIVE MARCH 2026

A fast-paced, death-defying race through the streets of Berlin, set in the Year 2000.

Nervous, timid and socially awkward, Nick is the most unlikely person to get involved in a deadly spy game of cat and mouse.

When his grandfather goes missing during a trip to Berlin, suddenly Nick is alone in a city where he knows nobody and cannot speak the language.

Desperate for answers, he looks through Grandpa Joe’s belongings and is astonished to discover an old book containing his grandfather’s memoirs as a teenage spy during World War II and throughout the Cold War.

As the world counts down to the new millennium, Nick finds himself running for his life as his pursuers close in. His only ally is local teen Rejhana, a girl with a tragic past. But can Nick really trust her?

Description

Exciting YA thriller for readers aged 13+, Spider Games is the first title in a planned series, a spinoff from the bestselling Katipo Joe series.

Praise for Katipo Joe: Blitzkrieg

“If the follow up books are as good as this first, then this is a series that will be in demand. Brian Falkner knows how to create pace, slow things a little, up the tension again, ease the action by a fraction, then pour the pace on yet again.” — Bookrapt

“This action-filled war story of World War 2 is a novel to rival the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz. I make this comparison because it is totally world class writing from, in my opinion, the best action writer in New Zealand.” — Bobs Book Blog
