The Littlest Lifeguard

The littlest lifeguard tries so hard to help the bigger lifeguards, but something is always going wrong. Knotting up lines on the floats, or knocking over kayaks.

So, when they race off to the boat to help someone, littlest lifeguard gets left behind.

But back on the beach it is only littlest lifeguard that can help all the others in trouble, and when the big lifeguards return, they realise littlest lifeguard really IS part of their team.

“A notable feature of this charming book is that both Vanessa Hatley-Owen’s text and Lisa Allen’s illustrations carefully avoid indicating whether the littlest lifesaver is a boy or a girl. They could be either – and it doesn’t matter. The little ball of enthusiasm is definitely part of the team.” –The Source
