Supporting the North Canterbury community
Through our connection with Kiwi Christmas Books, the Kiwi Kids’ Bookstore supports children and their families in our local community by donating books to Community Wellbeing North Canterbury Trust.
The trust provides free social and community services to strengthen the wellbeing of whānau, rangatahi, and tamariki, and they’re committed to helping North Canterbury families thrive.
The wonderful team at Community Wellbeing will work with their communities to ensure the books donated via our Kiwi Christmas Books campaign go to the children and teens in our region who benefit most.
Remember, a gifted book is a small but meaningful way to bring joy and support literacy of our young people.
Our 2025 Kiwi Christmas Books collection
To donate books via the Kiwi Kids’ Bookstore to the Community Wellbeing North Canterbury Trust:
- Choose the book(s) you want to donate in our online bookstore and add them to your cart.
- On the checkout page, enter the coupon code XMASBOOKSDONATION
- This code automatically gives you a 20% discount to the book price and the option to select the “Kiwi Christmas Books donation” shipping option (which means you’re not charged for shipping).
- Complete your purchase of the books you’ve chosen to donate, and we’ll add these books to our donation box.
- Donations close 10 December!
- We will liaise with the awesome team at Community Wellbeing North Canterbury to get the donated books into the hands of young readers who would LOVE a new book by a Kiwi author for Christmas.

What is Kiwi Christmas Books?
Kiwi Christmas Books is a registered charity which gifts brand new books to families whose children would otherwise go without at Christmas time.
We believe that good books help to build good people, so each year, we put thousands of quality Kiwi books into the hands of tamariki and rangatahi whose families can’t afford to buy their own, or who struggle to access quality literature in general.
Kiwi Christmas Books’ purposes include:
- Advancing education and literacy through the provision of books to children and young people in the community who do not have the means to acquire or access books for themselves;
- Advancing education and literacy of children and young people by promotion of the benefits of reading, writing and storytelling to the community;
- Relieving poverty by providing children and young people from low-income families with books.
